T.M.o.M Chapter 6: The Secrets of the Stars

"The... what?" Mysti asked the old man that stood before her.
"Come with me and I'll show you." He replied with an outstretched hand. Mysti wasn’t sure why, but she nervously took the man's hand and in a bright flash of light they were in what looked like some sort of ancient shrine.
"What, but... how did we get here?" Mysti stuttered, looking around. "And where is here?"
"The shrine of the stars." The man replied. He clapped his hands together and lights were switched on by his action. The shrine (for how old it probably was) looked to have been kept up rather well, everything looked very old but had been polished and fixed up, there were tables and chairs, an ornate mirror in one corner but what caught Mysti's eye were the numerous portraits on one of the walls, each depicted a different person, all different ages but none looked as young as her. Underneath each image was a different weapon, a sword, a bow, a hammer, etc. All the Weapons had one thing in common though; they all had a gold five point star somewhere on them. "These are the previous star guardians." The man explained, standing next to the images. "For seven hundred years they have protected this planet from any threat, they always appeared whenever this world was in danger, even from the very first star guardian." He pointed to the farthest image on the left, it depicted a teenage girl with blond hair and hazel eyes, she had a smile on her face that showed confidence but also that she was having fun; she looked very pretty. "Her name was Alpha." The man said. "Would you believe she was actually twenty years old?" He smiled.
"No, she looks about as old as Sophie." Mysti exclaimed.
"Well, it's been the same with every star guardian." The man said while walking up and down. "Each of them said that the body they were in wasn't the body they had before arriving." A look of confusion crossed Mysti's face, to which the man chuckled. "They said they had experienced some form of physical transformation."
"Oh and why are you telling me this?" Mysti enquired.
"Because I believe that you are the next Star Guardian." The man replied.
"I doubt it's me, I mean I can't even remember my real name." Mysti sighed, looking away.
"It is true that no Star Guardian has ever claimed to have experienced amnesia, but you purified three of those Feral’s so I have no doubt in my mind that you are the new Star Guardian." He smiled at her. "Oh, I just realised I haven't introduced myself properly." The man chuckled "The name's Elijah, Elijah Rumet. Guardian/caretaker of the Shrine of the Stars."
"Mysti." She replied quietly
"Well Mysti, I must say that you are the youngest Star Guardian in history, but I think I have a perfect weapon for you." Elijah said, turning around to a large chest near the images.
"Weapon?" Mysti asked.
"All Star guardians have a weapon." Elijah explained. "You look too young to have a bladed weapon and I feel something like a hammer or mace would be a little awkward and heavy, so how about this." He turned round and gave Mysti a staff; it was a long pink staff with a gold star in a thick pink ring on top, along the bottom half of the staff were star of increasing size from right to left. "The Star staff, a sacred weapon said to have been given to us by the stars them selves." Mysti took the staff in her hands; she could feel a strange energy flowing from it. "You look like you were meant to wield it." Elijah said to her, proudly.
