The clang of a heel against metal and the click of a gun, primed to unleash its electrical ammunition, echoed through the halls of the laboratory as their owner sharply turned the corner. The corridor was seemingly empty, but the gun slinger waited, subtly shifting her trained green gaze right and left before lowering her weapon to her side, still clutching the grip tightly. The woman sighed and holstered her gun. Running her blue covered hand through her blond hair she wondered if her paranoia was justified, her ship only reading a couple of human life signatures in this place. Reassessing the situation in her head brought the woman back to a mere six hours ago.

"User: Samus Aran, recognised: Power suit repair systems active." The synthesised voice rand from the speakers, informing the blond that her precious suit would be back up an running in a day or so. The woman casually stepped over to her pilots chair and relaxed in front of the control console. "Please input password." The main screen in front of her read. It was a tedious process, having to type the password in every time she wanted to launch, but the added security was helped set her mind at rest that it wouldn't be stolen, and consequently her being stranded, whilst she was on a mission. A few quick strokes of the keyboard and a retina scan later, she was ready for launch.

It was not two hours into her flight back to the federation building to collect her latest bounty, when her ship picked up a distress call. Samus wasted no time in tracing the beacon back to it's source, a genetics laboratory on a planet she'd not seen before. The signal was old too, at least by a month. Samus wasn't sure, but she decided to at least get a closer look. Taking a moment to let her eyes wander to the federation class battle helmet next to her, she quickly changed her course for the mystery planet.

Upon arrival a mere hour later, she set her ship to scan the facility and the surrounding area. The scan read only a handful of humans and plants inside the facility, with nothing but mostly harmless insects in the immediate vicinity. The tall blond weighed her options, she could either wait for her power suit to be repaired, possibly the smarter option, or, given that there was nothing around but humans, just go in check. Given that this signal had been active for a month at minimum, it would probably be better for the scientists to know that some help was there. After weighing her options, the galactic bounty hunter disembarked from her ship with her trusty paralyser primed for action.

The planet itself was lush and covered in trees and other plants. With the sheer diversity of life here, it was no surprise to Samus that people had set up a genetics laboratory here, she couldn't even begin to think of all the unique life forms that evolved here. On top of all that, the air was thick and there was a strange atmosphere here, almost making Samus want to lay down and take a nap right there. Though now was not the time for such thoughts. The statuesque woman took a deep breath and focused herself on the mission. And since then, there had been nothing, all the laboratories were empty save for a few saplings. Samus, once again, strode forward down the corridor, towards the heart of the facility, her heels clanging against the floor.

As she neared her destination, the clacking was getting more than a little bit annoying. "This certainly wasn't one of my better ideas." The blue bodysuit clad woman scowled, pausing in her trek to examine the heeled shoe of her zero suit. "I think I'll get rid of the heels until I can find a softer material for the soles, or maybe rocket boosters." She mumbled to herself tapping the bottom of the heels with her finger. She shook her head and continued onwards slowing her pace and making an effort to lighten her footfalls so she doesn't annoy herself too much with the clacking.

Samus paused and checked her map. Indeed, this was the last room of the facility. Inside should be where the humans were, she shot the door with her paralyser and the blue barrier lowered. Samus was always thankful for the federation making it mandatory for all electrical doors being chozo tech compatible, just to make her job easier (and meaning that she didn't have to blow the doors of their hinges every time); especially when dealing with space pirates who just stole doors because it was cheaper than making new ones. She braced herself and stepped through the door and into the room.

She wasn't sure what she expected, perhaps a large experiment or a database, but this certainly threw her for a loop. The room was barren, only a few computers built into the walls and two doors on either side, one of which she just came through, thought there was someone in it. A young woman,  late twenties if Samus had to guess, with short black hair and blue eyes, her clothes were a typical scientist uniform. She had noticed Samus and was looking at her puzzled.
"Are you al right?" Samus asked, the confusion evident in her voice.
The woman stared at her before seemingly having an epiphany. "Oh, you're Samus Aran right?" The bounty hunter merely nodded, warily. "You must have responded to the distress call?" Another affirmative. "Great, oh I can't believe that my creations are going to go against the great hunter herself." That caught Samus' attention.
"Your Creations?" She had a very bad feeling about this suddenly. The woman's eyes opened for a second, before dashing to one of the wall mounted computers and smacking a button, Samus quickly pulled her Paralyser on the woman.
"Alright, what's going on here, what did you do?"
"Well Miss Aran." The scientist started, running her fingers through her hair. "You know how this planet has a strange... atmosphere, right?" The womans eyes were sparkling, Samus glared, brushing some of her own hair behind her ear, before gripping her gun with that hand again.
"I think I know what you mean, the relaxed feeling right?" She could here the whirring of machines coming from behind the door.
"Yes. You see, there's a unique gas in the air here, fascinating stuff, its properties speed up the  development cycle of young life forms, allowing saplings to become moderately sized trees in the matter of a week, or an embryo to reach young adulthood in the matter of a month." The scientist explained.
"So you've been growing embryo's of the creatures of this planet here?" Samus questioned, eyes flitting back and forth between the door and the strange, possibly mad, scientist.
"Hmm, sort of, at first." The woman meandered before turning to the door. Samus looked as well and gasped when it opened.

The whirring mechanisms slowly pulled the doors open, with a group of a dozen or so humans standing there, all bearing a striking resemblance to the bounty hunter. They were all in their late teens and shared Samus' appearance and build. However, whilst some looked human, with only minor differences such as different hair colours or a minute difference in height; the more youthful looking of them looked as if they were an amalgamation of different species, one was covered in scales, had a thick tail, talons and a hunched over posture, another had purple, translucent skin and yet another had what looked like chitin based armouring covering its torso and limbs, with her right arm having a large claw at the end, and her lower jaw having a split in it. The scientist and slinked over to the group and wrapped her arms around one who looked like she'd been spliced with a feline species, dappled brown fur covered her limbs along with mildly paw shaped hands and feet, her face, mostly human but with whiskers, yellow cat like eyes and large feline ears nestled in her hear. The scientist rubbed her hand along the top of the girls head, which caused the girl to smile a little. "We've been working with your DNA." The scientist smiled. "It was quite easy to acquire, just a single hair was enough, sadly, said hair was badly scorched and there wasn't much left that was salvageable; but it was enough if we just mixed it in with some other DNA."
"What other DNA did you use?" Samus felt she knew the answer, but wasn't sure. The woman, however, was clearly enjoying the bounty hunters confusion.
"Just some of our own. It was hard to do at first, you've got quite the strange genetic code, but we managed, just. I was eager to test the first batch, so I set them loose. They did wonderfully" Something about this didn't add up.
"Sounds like you made a lot, why's there so few?" She inquired, the doctor looked rather melancholy.
"Ugh, they degraded so quickly, took me ages to fix it, and they still need a constant supply of the gas lest they're reduced back to children." Definitely mad. "By the time I fixed it, all the donors had decayed. I had to find fresh meat."
"the distress signal." Samus growled.
"Yep." The doctor broke her embrace and clapped giddily. "Just set it off, wait for some sucker to fly in to rescue us, have my lovelies beat them down and harvest them for new clones. Then restart the signal when the new clones are ready." She quickly slipped through the door and closed it, surprising Samus. "Now my dears, I want her alive, but otherwise, have fun." The clones all growled and rushed their genetic base.

Samus had few seconds to react, flipping back and dodging as the savage girls charged at her with guns, claws and whatever other weapons they had. They were strong, had her physique and outnumbered her, but they didn't have her battle experience or intellect. She designated the gunmen as the biggest threat at the moment, but she definitely needed distance from the animalistic ones. In a fluid movement, she snapped her paralyser into its whip mode and swung it around her, causing the advancing mob of clones to jump back to avoid it, A brown haired clone opened fire with a pistol but Samus tumbled out of the way. Her aim was sloppy, hopefully the others' would be too. A clacking alerted Samus of the insectoid clone's attempt to jump her from behind. She swiveled round and caught the girl in her whip and, pivoting, threw her at the brown haired clone, the girls shell was so hard it knocked the other clone out. Flicking her weapon back she shot at the two other gunners, a black haired clone, and one that bared some resemblance to a Phrysigian. The black haired girl was completely stunned, but she had a feeling the icy clone wouldn't stay down for long. The feline clone tackled her, but Samus simply rolled and kicked her off into a wall. Three down.

The Insectoid was back up and started shooting at her with energy weapons that she instantly recognised. "Must have been a small ship of space pirates then." Samus Mused, but she had a plan. The Icy clone had recovered and was also trying to shoot her with ice blasts. Samus ran between the two and stopped, the clones shot, and Samus rolled out of the way, The insectoid frozen from the shoulders down and the icy one knocked out. A blond and the lizard clone leapt at her, the former brandishing a lead pipe, and the latter with her talons. Samus rolled and shot the blond, taking her out, but had to roll again to avoid the lizard girl. Samus gritted her teeth and flicked her weapon again, lashing at the girl with the laser whip. The lizard girl growled and tried to jump her again, Samus' arm being grazed as she dodged. Samus gritted her teeth through the pain and lashed the clone with translucent skin, catching her leg. The girl dropped her weapon in surprise and was promptly slammed into the Lizard clone, the two out of the fight. The next clone to attack had bright ginger hair and tried to skewer Samus with a bayonet, but Samus managed to sidestep and kicked the girl in the head. There was only three left, Samus turned, Two of her clones were standing before her, shaking a little in fear, but charged anyway. One Had purple shell armouring similar to that of a Vhozon and the other was another human, reddish blond with brown eyes. Samus Kicked both of them, blasting them with her paralyser, and ensuring that the composite was down with a couple more shots. Samus was tired, but there was only one more, she turned, and saw her, This clone was obviously spliced with a simian species, she had short brown fur over her body, a long, obviously prehensile, tail and her feet resembled hands with longer toes and a shorter sole. The girl was also the youngest looking around fifteen, obviously the most recent so the gas must not have worked on her properly. The monkey like clone looked terrified, so Samus walked up to her, patted her on the head, and advanced to the door. The clone just collapsing on the ground, shaking.

"Talk." Samus growled, her grip on the scientist's throat tight enough that she would have trouble breathing, but loose enough that she could speak.
"No one is... paying me... yet." The scientist gasped.
"So you were planning to sell them?" Samus' was beginning to loose her patience.
"Hired muscle actually." The scientist wheezed.
"Right, how long until the gas wears off?"
"About twelve hours.... why?" Samus just smirked and knocked her out.

Samus ensured that there was no trace of her clones or the related research left behind in the whole facility, before boarding her ship and leaving for the Galactic Federation HQ. Upon landing, Samus Collected her bounty and gave the scientist over to them, along with a data chip which contained a recording of the conversation they'd had. The woman was shocked and asked when she'd done that. Samus reply was to just push her hair over her ear and walk off. "Miss Aran." The officer she'd talked to called out to her. Samus paused and half turned back to the man. "What about those kids?" He inquired.
"I'm taking them to an orphanage." She told him flatly. "After the baby metroid fiasco, I'm not keen to look after kids again." She added.
"But the federation could use..." He started before the towering woman pivoted and glared at him.
"I'm. Taking. Them. To. An. Orphanage." She repeated.
"Y-yes ma'am." He squeaked, feebly.
"Good." Samus smiled and left for her ship, she had to give some kids a new life.
So yes, :iconpokemorphomega:'s request is finally done, just one more to go and I'm free for a while.

Sorry this took so long, kept getting distracted and forgetting. Plus college work is a motivation drainer sometimes.
