sobbing and sniffing was all that could be heard in the small dark room of the orphanage, the source of the crying was a 12 year old girl with short pitch black hair lying down on the old and worn bed that was clearly too small for her. She wore a set of blue and white stripped pajamas. She continued crying until she heard a noise outside the building, she slowly got up off her bed, her deep blue eyes surrounded by red circles from her crying, she walked over to her window and looked out at the street to see where the noise was comming from. She looked over to the house opposite her and saw something unbelieveable. There on the roof were two grown men attacking a long haired girl (14 at most) with cat ears and tail. The men looked like soldiers from the army and the girl they were fighting was wearing a simple blue top and jeans, the odd thing was she was barefoot. Dispite the obvious disadvaantages the girl had over the soldiers, she was easily holding them off and the girl watching (who was pretty adept at fighting due to her rough past) could tell that she was only using the bare minimum of her skills. Eventually the soldiers got irritated and turned their guns on the girl, who didn't flinch at all, in fact it looked like she was taunting them, the soldiers responded by shooting her. The girl watching opened her eyes and saw the girl still standing, right hand out infront of her, holding two tranquiliser darts in her fingers and smirking victoriously. She crushed the darts between her fingers, then lept at one of the soldiers, who raised his gun on defence. The catgirl easily sliced throught it with her claws, then proceeded to backflip, kicking the man in the jaw in the process. He landed on the rooftop, sprawled out over the tiling, knocked out. The other soldier rushed at the catgirl, swinging down with his gun, only to miss. He looked up just to see the catgirl stomp down on his gun, smashing it in half; the catgirl then proceeded to send the other guard flying with a powerful kick to the gut. Satisfied with her work she turned at looked directly at the girl at the window who gasped in shock, the catgirl lept up to her window and smiled "I take it you liked that little specticle then?" She sang. The black haired girl just nodded in responce. "You gonna let me in?" The catgirl asked.
"So what's your name?" The catgirl asked the shorter girl after she had settled.
"Katie." The girl replied
"Nice to meet you Kilie, my name's Kat." The catgirl said openly.
"Really?" Katie asked
"Nah, that's just an alias I go by." 'Kat' admitted, waving her hand dissmissivly.
"I see."
"Yeah, but what happened, why are you in this place?"
"Well... you see... my parents died when I was little and..."
"Say no more." Kat said, putting a comforting hand on the girls shoulder. "But surly a family would have picked out a pretty little girl like you almost immediately."
"They all said I was too boyish."
"Ah, well... I can help you get a family." Kat's tone was suddenly very serious.
"Really, you could?" Katie sqealed in exitement.
"If that's your wish, but be warned I wont do this for free, you'll lose something of equal value to the wish itself." Kat sounded very serious now.
"Like what?"
"For a wish like this, you'll lose your humanity and all trace of your identity will be lost and forgotten, you'd be starting life over."
"Lose my humanity?" Katie questioned, slightly scared
"Don't worry, it just means you wont exactly be human, I won't turn you into some swamp monster."
"So I'll still look human."
"yeah, about as human as I look."
"Well then... I'll do it."
"Ok then." Kat said monotonously. A gold circle appeared at her feet, it had a large five point star in the middle and had odd symbols in between the outer and inner rings which were all connected by vines. Katie suddenly felt her ears changing and moving to the top of her head and her tailbone extending becoming a long pink cat tail, Katie gasped "So that's what she ment by being about as human as she was." She murmered, all the while her black hair was quickly becoming bright pink. Just when she thought her transformation was finnished everything slowly started to get bigger, she looked at herself and was shocked to see that any trace that she was going through puberty vanished, all the while she was getting shorter and shorter, her clothes changing their style and size to match. "You tircked me!" Katie squeeled in a squeeky voice.
"I didn't." Kat said. "I said all trace and mamory of you would vannish, that includes your own memory of yourself, you're going to be starting your life over." She explained
"Oh, sowie Kat." Katie said, her prununciation skills already starting to slip. "But thank you for this, I get to sart a new wife, how many peopwle get to do that?" She said looking up at Kat, she was now only five years old and still regressing. Kat had to say, the kid was adoreable. The regression slowed and eventually stopped, leaving Katie at 18 months, she yawned and uttered one final sentence before drifting off to sleep "Thank you Kat, for everything." While she slept she would forget her previous life and start a new with a loving family, and Kat had just the family in mind. She picked the baby up and warped out of the building.
A pretty, 12 year old, pink haired catgirl in a light blue T-shirt and jeans walked through the market place with a cheery expresion on her face her tail swaying behind her. She was lucky her parents weren't strict with how she dressed, even though she was the princess of this kingdom, she only had to wear fancy dresses for formal ocations, otherwise she could wear whatever she wanted. Today she was just enjoying a stroll through the town, however she soon came across someone struggling to pick up their stock which had just been knocked over. She quickly ran over and helped the woman pick everything up. "Thank you miss." The woman said but gasped when she saw who it was. "Princess, I'm sorry for having to trouble you." She quickly bowed, Katie giggled
"You don't need to worry about it, I'm just happy I could help nya." She cheeryly replied.
"Thank you again princess." The woman said as Katie walked away.
"You're welcome nya." Katie called back to her. She was loved throughout the kingdom for her kind attitude, calm temperment and the fact she always smiled. Her mind wandered as her body did, she thought back to that girl, the one her parents had tolder her had brought her to them. Katie had a picture of her in her room since she was little, she based her regular clothes off this mysterious girl, as well as the fact she walked around barefoot. She was brought back to reality when she bumped into someone. "Oh, I'm really sorry." She quickly appologised.
"Don't worry about it." The stranger said. Katie looked up to see a fourteen year old catgirl with long hair wearing the same thing she was standing infront of her. KAtie was taken aback, it was her, it was her guardian angel. "Y... you're.." She stammered
"My, you look very pretty." The girl said to her. "I'm glad everything has turned out alright for you, good luck with the rest of your life, I can tell it's going to be a great one." he girl smiled before walking away, getting lost in the crowds. Katie wasted no time in hurrying back to the castle to tell her parents who she had just seen, she was sure they would be suprised.
From ontop of one of the buildings Kat watched Katie run home, the blue stone around her kneck glinting in the sunlight. "Have a great life kid and remember to always smile."
